One Championship, based in Singapore, is the very first Pan -Asian promotion showcasing mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, and kick boxing. The promotion was founded with the intention of creating a platform to showcase true martial arts values such as humility, honor, and self-improvement. With its first event in 2011, One Championship has been promoting championship fights between fighters that are not as well known in America, but are very well known in Asia throughout the East. Considered as martial arts heroes, ONE Championship fighters are believed to be some of the best fighters in the world, and have proved that, by beating some of the best fighters recently coming off of a UFC roster. One of them being the former UFC Lightweight Champion, Eddie Alvarez, who suffered a first round defeat against Timofey Nastyukhin, in his One Championship debut.
