The UFC’s number one contender in the bantamweight division, ‘Magic’ Marlon Moraes, 23W 6L 1D, is looking for a fight, and at this point doesn’t care about the rankings. It was just a few weeks ago when we were all anticipating a match-up between Moraes and Petr Yan, 14W 1L, however since then the match has fallen apart leaving Moraes without an opponent. Yan is now scheduled to fight Jose Aldo, 28W 6L, for the vacant bantamweight title in July, and Moraes is trying to get a fight under his belt, in hopes to reclaim another title shot. He recently called out former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, 22W 3L, knowing that if he were to beat Cruz in style, they couldn’t deny his next fight being a title shot. The bantamweight division is heavily stacked, and since the former champion, Henry Cejudo, 16W 2L, vacated the belt, all the top contenders have been delivering amazing performances trying to claim their shot at a world title. Moraes knows sitting out is not the best move, as the division will continue to move forward without him unless he makes a statement. Will Moraes get a top contender fight next or will the UFC grant him the winner of Aldo and Yan if he decides to sit out and wait?
