The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin

Gordon Liu plays Liu Yude, a young student who want’s to learn Shaolin kung fu to avenge the death of his family and friends. He is rejected at first by the Shaolin monks, however the chief abbot was merciful and allowed him to stay. Yude began his kung fu training a year later, and had his name changed to San Te. The Shaolin curriculum contained 35 chambers in which novice monks are trained in one area of the martial arts system. San Te completed the entire course faster than any other monk but was kicked out the temple after proposing a 36th chamber to teach regular people kung fu. San Te would eventually return to his town avenging the murders of his family friends. In the end San Te makes his way back to the Shaolin temple, where they allow him to open the 36th chamber, and teach kung fu to regular people.
