STARRING: JET LI
DIRECTED BY: GORDON CHAN
YEAR: 1994
In 1994 the world was introduced to one of the greatest martial arts movie of all time, Fist of Legend, starring Jet Li. Li has stamped his mark in the martial arts movie industry, standing toe to toe with the legendary Bruce Lee. This was actually a remake of Bruce Lee’s 1972 classic Fist of Fury. The movie takes place in Shanghi during the 1930’s. Japanese forces occupied the city during the Second Sino-Japanese War, and Chen Zen(Jet Li) is a Chinese student going to school in Japan. When Chen hears the news of the death of his master, he returns to the Jing Wu School in Shanghi. Chen will do whatever it takes to figure out who is responsible for his masters death. The movie has some of the most amazing fight scenes I’ve ever seen. From beginning to end non stop real kung fu fighting action. Without a doubt one of the kings of kung fu flicks. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars.
