UFC Fight Night in Jacksonville, which took place on May 13, 2020, had major fireworks go off inside the octagon from featherweight contender, Brian “BOOM” Kelleher. Kelleher, 20W 10L, who came up from bantamweight, dropped his opponent, Hunter Azure, with a left hook inside the 2nd round, and then flat-lined him with 2 hammer punches. When the shots landed the sounds echoed throughout the arena as all 50 people in attendance yelped the “OH’s”. Azure was left completely unconscious on his back, as the referee pushed Kelleher off him avoiding more damage. Kelleher came in as the underdog at +165, as Azure, favored at -205, was an undefeated prospect with 8 straight wins on his record. During his post fight victory speech, Kelleher called out the American ninja, “I told Dana White, get Sugar Sean, stop protecting this guy, get some joint papers, roll them up for me I’m gonna smoke his ass”. Kelleher is not asking for an easy fight if he’s asking for undefeated prospect Sugar Sean O’Malley. With Kelleher on a two fight win streak, a win against a guy like O’Malley, is likely to push him closer to title contention.
