The MMA world, let alone the combat sports world in general, has been patiently waiting for a sporting event to unfold as the UFC prepares to host three events all to take place within one week. On Saturday May 9, 2020, the UFC is hosting UFC 249, Tony Ferguson Vs. Justin Gaithje, then there will be an event the following Wednesday May 13th, UFC Fight Night, Anthony Smith vs. Glover Texeraira, and then another event the following Saturday May 16th, UFC Fight Night, Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris. All events are said to take place in Jacksonville, Florida and as of today May 6, 2020 the fights are still on! I have never been more excited to watch a mixed martial arts event until now. It has been several weeks since the COVID-19 quarantine, and with no sporting events currently playing on television, the UFC plans to capitalize by being the only combat sports promotion delivering amazing fights.
