The UFC has been promoting UFC 249, in which the headliner will be an Interim Lightweight Championship fight between Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson and Justin Gaethje. UFC 249 was re-scheduled from its original date in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Khabib Nurmagomedov, the current undefeated Lightweight Champion, was originally scheduled to fight Tony before Khabib opted to not compete, which is why there is an interim title on the line. Ferguson has been on 12 fight win streak, and Gaethje has knocked out his last three opponents in the beginning rounds. But the question on everyone’s minds, the fans minds, the fighters mind; will this event take place on May 9th? On an interview with Brett Okamoto, Dana White revealed the UFC was going to hold UFC 249 on an island, and will be hosting future MMA events on that location. Now UFC 249 is said to take place in Jacksonville Florida. At this point I don’t think anyone cares anymore on location, just give us an event and we will be grateful.
